Dominoes is a great way for children to improve their basic math, counting, and sorting skills.

The Giant Dominoes set is made of wood and includes 168 tiles – each with a different color and all collected in a box.

Each tile is divided into two halves, and each half can have up to 6 dots.

There are different ways the tiles can be used – for domino games or for arranging and forming different shapes that can then be sequentially knocked down by pushing just one tile.

RULES OF THE DOMINO GAME

Setup

Turn all domino tiles face down. Each player draws 5 tiles. The remaining tiles stay on the table.

Gameplay

The player with the highest double-sided tile places it in the middle of the playing table to start the game. If no player has drawn a double tile, the tiles are returned, shuffled, and redrawn. Players take turns clockwise. The second player places their tile on one side of the already placed tile, which has the same number of dots. For example, if the first tile is 4 + 4, the second player can place any of their tiles that has 4 dots on one side. Only one tile can be placed per turn; tiles are placed lengthwise, not perpendicularly, except when there is a double tile. These tiles are always placed perpendicularly to the end of the line, allowing the game to continue in two directions. The game continues until a player plays all their tiles or until no player can play anymore.

If a player cannot place a tile

The player must draw an additional tile from the face-down tiles on the table until they draw one that can be placed. If the last tile has been drawn and the player still cannot play, they skip their turn, and the next player places a tile.

Winner

The game ends when a player plays all their tiles or when no player can play their tile anymore. The player who runs out of tiles, or the one with the lowest sum of points on their remaining tiles, wins the round. The player who won the round deducts their remaining points (0 if they have no tiles, or the sum of points from their remaining tiles) from the total sum of all remaining tiles in their opponents and records their score. The game continues until a player reaches 100 points. The first player to reach 100 or more points wins the game.
