Open the front cabin to remove the firefighter figure. Use the figure's hand to press the magical WOW button. This will open the back door of the fire engine. Remove the safety barrier and place it outside to secure the area until the fire subsides. Then place the firefighter figure on Ernie's roof and rotate him around his axis to rotate the ladder as well. The ladder will be in a convenient position to extinguish the fire. Place the firefighter on the fire ladder and fight the flames.

Once you've extinguished the fire, return the ladder and safety barrier to their places, and the firefighter to the front cabin. Now Ernie can head to the next fire to extinguish.
